Just on this barcamp website? Without trying to sound smart, but has anyone decided to explain what barcamp is to those folks outside the ‘inner circle’???

Hi Ken,

Sure, on the homepage is say “It’s about people getting together, sharing ideas, learning from each other and finding like-minds” and theres an ‘about’ page with more information too.

Have you any specific questions about BarCamp?

I think it might be a good idea to link to http://barcamp.org/ somewhere reasonably prominent. The “About” paragraph really is a bit vague if you don’t do this sort of thing often.

I’d also like to know a bit more about how people can “contribute to the success of BarCamp” if they aren’t tech/business superstars. Maybe there should be a page listing things that the organisers need help with?

Ok, thanks Gordon. Not as techie as most people and find there’s too much info on here to sift through to try and get the info I need to decide if I want to go on Saturday and to what sessions to attend and at what time. It sounds like a good networking day and should be informative with various guest speakers. I can’t attend a full day so trying to get the info on what topics are being covered and at what times. Thanks for the info, I’ll dig a bit deeper!

The presentation that I gave on the day is available here: http://url.ie/2xu3 if you’d like to add it to the list of ones available.

Hi Elly,

Thanks for sending it on, I’ve updated the post.

Thanks for putting it in to Slideshare too, saved me a few minutes :)

Gordon.
